General Information & Guidelines:

  • The Indianapolis Alumnae Chapter will award scholarships (Fortitude Award and Pearl Award) of at least $1000.00 each to candidates chosen. Scholarships will be awarded based upon academic achievement, character, community services activities, extra-curricular activities, and financial need.
  • There are two scholarships that Applicants may select from, APPLICANT MUST SELECT WHICH SCHOLARSHIP SHE IS APPLYING TO RECEIVE.
    • The Fortitude Award is for students with demonstrated financial need.
    • The Pearl Award is for students with demonstrated academic excellence
  • All application packets received by the deadline date of February 14, 2017 will be screened and evaluated by the Scholarship Committee. Applicants selected for a personal interview will be notified via email by February 16, 2017. Applicants not selected will also be notified by email. Personal interviews will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Please make sure that you provide an updated email address with this application.
  • Scholarships will be awarded during the second semester of the candidate’s freshman year; and only after receiving documented proof of enrollment in the second semester of a four (4) -year accredited academic college/university. Scholarship awards will be forfeited if proof of enrollment is not received by the established deadline of the committee.
  • All Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale system or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for this scholarship is limited to applicants who:
    1. Reside in the following service areas:
      • Indianapolis
      • Kokomo
      • Zionsville
      • Avon
      • Brownsburg
      • Carmel
      • Greenwood
      • Fishers
      • Plainfield
      • Lafayette
      • West Lafayette
    2. Completed Application with signed Certification
    3. Copy of Transcript – please also request an official school transcript be sent to the Scholarship Committee
    4. Two (2) letters of recommendation accompanied by signed Student Recommendation Form
    5. Typed 500 word personal statement essay
